Why is Seriha handcrafted?

I am Thu Dang, the owner of the Seriha Handcrafted brand. First, I would like to introduce myself a little. I am Vietnamese and came to Finland to study when I was 19 years old. Over the years, while living in Finland, I have always wanted to create something that connects my home country of Vietnam and my other home country of Finland. Seriha was founded with the goal of bringing the masterful craftsmanship of Vietnamese embroidery art to Finland, showcasing the talent of these skilled artisans, and supporting their livelihood.

I fell in love with Finnish nature from day one. It has become my biggest source of inspiration in designing Seriha products, which feature hand-embroidered designs of beautiful plants and animals in Finnish nature. These embroideries reflect my personal experiences and feelings related to the Finnish landscape.

Through Seriha, I want to share the beauty of Finnish nature with the world through the art of embroidery. Thanks to these embroidered accessories, I can now carry a piece of that nature with me wherever I go – and I hope others can do the same.

Behind every Seriha creation are the skilled hands of skilled Vietnamese artisans. Each product is a work of art made with love and dedication, deeply rooted in Vietnam’s rich embroidery tradition. Some of Seriha’s products are made by women who have discovered their passion for embroidery during their maternity leave and turned it into a valuable source of extra income or even their main job. We also collaborate with retired women who enjoy embroidery and create handmade accessories to supplement their income. Together, we celebrate their skills and stories through our unique, handmade products.
